Artifact: One Hour Technology Workshop
Reflection:
- Briefly describe the artifact and the context in which it was created. What was/were your individual contribution(s)?
- The artifact for this standard is my One Hour Technology Workshop from the PL and Innovation Course. This artifact was created in conjunction with a Google Classroom Training I was asked to do at Cambridge High School in March 2017. I was the sole creator
- Explain how this artifact demonstrates mastery of the standard/element under which it is placed. See the portfolio rubric and watch the videos for more details on what to include in your reflection for this question. You must respond to each of the items on the rubric in this question! It is VERY IMPORTANT that you address ALL of the criteria on the rubric. This one question may need to be several paragraphs long in order to address all of the items on the rubric.
- This artifact meets the standard because it uses the standards to set up the learning structure, it has both a face to face and online modality that teachers can use, it models principals of adult learning through the choices of different modes of delivery, and it promotes best practices by showing an easy way to have a digital hub
- What did you learn from completing this artifact? What would you do differently to improve the quality of the artifact or the process involved in creating the artifact? Not changing anything is NOT an acceptable response.
- Whenever you do a training, you learn to things. 1) You learn how the training will play, and you come up with ideas on how to improve it 2) You learn more about building relationships and dealing with people. I think to improve this training I would have it at different time of year where High School teachers are more open to change (this was held in March)
- How did the work that went into creating the artifact impact school improvement, faculty development, or student learning? How can the impact be assessed?
- Having a digital hub allows teachers to both personalize work for students and catch them up when they are behind. By learning and using Google Classroom, they are able to do both improving both their development and student achievement
