Artifact: Vision Paper
Reflection:
1. Briefly describe the artifact and the context in which it was created. What was/were your individual contribution(s)?
The article created was my shared vision paper and it was created apart of Kennesaw State University ITEC Course 7410. I wrote the vision paper as I was working on the Fulton County Schools personalized learning project as a member of KSU ITEACH. The paper references Milton High School because it was one of the schools I was servicing at the time.
2. Explain how this artifact demonstrates mastery of the standard/element under which it is placed. See the portfolio rubric and watch the videos for more details on what to include in your reflection for this question. You must respond to each of the items on the rubric in this question! It is VERY IMPORTANT that you address ALL of the criteria on the rubric. This one question may need to be several paragraphs long in order to address all of the items on the rubric.
This artifact meets the standard because it is practice in doing exactly what the standard references. The standard ask Candidates to facilitate the development and implementation of a shared vision for the use of technology, learning, and leadership. This written plan outlines a way for Milton High School to do so, and the plan was given to them in order to implement
3. What did you learn from completing this artifact? What would you do differently to improve the quality of the artifact or the process involved in creating the artifact? Not changing anything is NOT an acceptable response.
Completing this task gave me a reference to deeper administrative planning and needs. I have been both a teacher and instructional technology specialist, but I have never had to plan and vision for a school or district. I think if I were going to do something different, I would get more feedback on the school level. In my role, it’s hard to push schools forward considering I am not an employee, but maybe by having more input from school leaders they could take the vision and run with it.
4. How did the work that went into creating the artifact impact school improvement, faculty development, or student learning? How can the impact be assessed?
The work that was done lays out a vision of instructional technology use for Milton High School. In my current role as an education technology specialist for Kennesaw State University, it can only be offered as a reference point for future planning at Milton. The school could then use it to impact school improvement, faculty development, or student learning.
